OCKB PASA CERTIFIED – 2011 LESSONS
OCKB offers safe, professional lessons for beginners through intermediate level kiters. Advanced waveriding instruction is also available. OCKB uses PASA certified instructors. We also offer IKO lessons through our school partner, The Leading Edge Kite School. During the peak summer season, OCKB and The Leading Edge Kite School will assist each other and share students and instructors, so that everyone is able to get quality instruction during the limited suitable windy days. STEP ONE: INTRO LESSONS
LAND BASED LESSONS
“INTRO TO KITEBOARDING” LESSON- 1 HOUR- $59.00
This is a land based kite lesson. It includes a hands on trainer kite lesson and introduces the basic principles of power kiting and kiteboarding. You will learn the basic kite handling skills necessary to move to the next level (The “Learning to Fly” Lesson Package). You can upgrade this package to include the Trainer Kite and video for an extra $99.00!
“INTRO TO KITEBOARDING” LESSON INCLUDING TRAINER KITE- 1 HOUR- $158.00
This is the same package as above, but includes the 2M Trainer kite and video you used in your lesson. This is a great way to practice learning your kite skills after the lesson ends.
LAND/WATER BASED LESSONS
“LEARNING TO FLY” LESSON PACKAGE- 4 HOURS $298.00
This is the course to take if you have never taken a kiteboarding lesson before. This 6 hour course combines both the 3 hour “FIRST WATER” Course and the 3 Hour “WATER START” Course. After this 6 hour course is complete, you should be well on your way to kiteboarding.
“FIRST WATER” KITEBOARDING COURSE- 2 HOURS- $149.00
The latest PASA teaching techniques are used to teach you to kiteboard faster, safer and in less time. This course teaches you the fundamentals of kiteboarding: safety, equipment selection, understanding wind speed and direction, rigging, launching and landing, basic kite control, and body surfing with the kite. At the conclusion of this course, you will be in the water bodysurfing with the kite by controlling its power.
“WATER START” KITEBOARDING COURSE-2 HOURS -$149.00
This course combines your kite control with board skills to attempt your first water starts on the kiteboard. This course focuses on how to create more or less power with the kite through various “power strokes”. You will learn how to get just enough power for the right water start with the board. You will also learn how to put on the kiteboard while flying the kite, learn body positioning, and angles of attack with the board. Also, self rescue and self exits will be covered. The goal of this course is to build a solid foundation of kite and board control to help begin your basic water starts with a kiteboard.
STEP TWO: ADVANCED LESSONS
PRIVATE KITEBOARDING COURSE WITH PWC ASSIST- 3 HOURS $299.00
This course is fully customized to take your kiteboarding skills to the next level. This is the next step for someone that has taken lessons in the past or has finished the “LEARNING TO FLY” Lesson. Now that you have the basic foundation, fine tune your kite, board and body to accelerate your kiteboarding! Ride in both ways, go upwind, or learn to jump. We will teach you to get to the next level, a self-sufficient kiteboarder. This lesson includes full PWC watercraft support and expert level instruction.
SEMI - PRIVATE KITEBOARDING COURSE WITH PWC ASSIST- 3 HOURS $200.00 (per student)
This course is fully customized to take your kiteboarding skills to the next level but you bring a friend! When you bring a friend you save $100 (each) off the price of private lessons! You will share one kite and one instructor. Can be customized to any level of kiteboarder. Includes use of our kites, boards, and PWC. Note: Both kiteboarders must have basic kite flying skills or have taken a previous lesson.
“THE FULL CUSTOM” SUPERVISED RIDING- 1-4 HOURS (PRICE DEPENDS ON HOURS)
Already up and riding? Need someone to follow you on our PWC and offer tips and suggestions? We can arrange a completely custom lesson ranging from 1-4 hours. Call us to discuss your goals and we will design a lesson. Surf, flat water, etc.
OTHER LESSONS AND NO WIND FUN
PWC BOARD SKILLS LESSON- 1.5 HOURS - $149.00
Want to work on your board skills when there is no wind? We will take you out on our PWC and tow you while you practice your board edging skills.
